Reflecting and moving forward together
The meeting provided an important opportunity to reflect on the progress made during the first and second semesters of the project. Partners shared updates on their national contexts, current activities, and the main challenges encountered so far.
Through open discussions and collaborative sessions, the partnership identified key lessons learned and explored ways to improve coordination, communication, and implementation in the upcoming phases of the project. This collective reflection was essential to strengthen the project’s direction and ensure more effective results in the next semesters.
Learning from Romanian good practices
A central part of the meeting focused on the presentation of Romanian initiatives and good practices in active ageing and long-term care.
Representatives from organisations such as the Valeria Association, Urban Soul, and LOGS Association shared their innovative approaches to tackling challenges such as loneliness, social exclusion, and limited access to services for older adults.
For instance, the “Active Grandparents Campaign” demonstrated how simple, community-based and low-cost initiatives can successfully promote physical activity, social participation, and a sense of belonging among seniors.
In addition, national-level programmes such as the Romanian Health Programme 2021–2027 were presented, highlighting major investments in healthcare infrastructure, digitalisation, and community-based services to address the challenges of an ageing population.
These exchanges allowed partners to better understand different policy frameworks and gather inspiration for transferring and adapting good practices across regions.
Field visits and local ecosystem
Participants also visited the Nokia Business Centre, where they explored the local innovation ecosystem and its potential connections with social and health-related initiatives. The visit offered a broader perspective on how cross-sector collaboration can contribute to more inclusive and resilient communities.
Planning the next steps
The second day was dedicated to planning the future of the project. Partners discussed upcoming activities, the development of the baseline study, and the organisation of future actions.
A Steering Committee meeting was also held to review project management, communication tools, and partner expectations, ensuring alignment for the next phase of implementation.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue strengthening cooperation and to build on the knowledge generated so far.
Looking ahead
The Timișoara meeting marked a key milestone in the ACTAge project, reinforcing collaboration among partners and setting a clearer path for the upcoming semesters.
The next transnational meeting will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, in the second half of September 2026, where partners will continue advancing towards the common goal of promoting active, healthy, and dignified ageing across Europe.
